Multiple Object Editing

The ability to edit multiple objects at once has landed in the Blender 2.8 branch!

Still lots of work to be done, but it’s pretty exciting to see this finally make it to the official Blender 2.8 branch. Imagine sculpting multiple objects, or painting, or anything really!

  1. Cool. Thanks for that. It will help in sAving time

  2. wow.
this is great news for blender!

    great job devs

  3. Does multi-object editing also mean that we will be able to edit values and modifiers on multiple objects selected at once, as well?

  4. Kinda sad that everyone is just posting about the UI topics. Certainly everyone is also really excited about this addition aswell!

  5. Would die a happy man, if we could get something like max’s edit poly modifier.

  6. Will you eventually support adding modifiers in multiobj edit? This would be very handy. (Although I guess there would be some complications with what modifiers to show when multiple objects are selected etc..)
Still would be useful. Current methods for adding modifiers to multiple objects (Link modifiers only works if you want to have exactly duplicated stacks) are inadequate save for creating a python script.
    Super appreciated feature this is!

  7. Nice to pair ideasman with a face. Your insights on StackExchange are gold !!

    Thanks a lot.

  8. Something that is an important aspect is cloth tearing. I make transformations and i need the cloth-mesh to rip based on the stretching. It cannot be that hard, because all what blender has to do is to measure the deformation of the cloth mesh and split one vertex into two with connected edges when a specified threshold is reached.

  9. So looking forward to collections, it will make arch vis so much easier to work with.

  10. Woooo !! fantastic !!
    go go go guys !!!!

  11. Wow great news.

Is Blender’s texture baking (Normal Map, AO, id etc) gonna get any update soon. These tools are quite old now and it would be very nice if we got some new functionality that will improve these tool and make the life of game designers easier. At the moment we have to go to other software like Marmoset Toolbag to get the fastest, easiest and best results for Normal Maps.
